What apartment renovation covers
Full or partial renovation of any apartment, addressing structure, finishes and all services.

Selective demolition and replanning
Remove old finishes and non-structural partitions to suit the new layout.

Plumbing and drainage
Replace or reroute concealed water supply and drainage lines inside the apartment.

Electrical works
Update wiring, distribution board and lighting points to match the new fit-out.

Gypsum ceilings and paint
Install gypsum ceilings hiding ducts, then apply climate-suitable paint systems.

Floors and wall finishes
Lay tile, marble or parquet after waterproofing wet areas first.

Windows, doors and facade
Replace aluminium frames, seal thermal gaps and refresh the apartment's external facade.
Signs your apartment needs renovation
Peeling paint and cracking plaster
Hairline or diagonal cracks on walls and ceilings point to movement or trapped moisture behind the surface.
Damp stains in bathroom or kitchen
Yellow or grey stains on ceilings or walls beside wet areas mean the waterproofing layer has failed.
Unusually high AC bills
Missing or thin thermal insulation in outer walls and old single-pane windows push up cooling consumption noticeably.
Rusty or warped aluminium frames
Corroded frames let fine dust and hot air in and lose their insulating ability against Kuwait's outdoor heat.
Common mistakes in apartment renovation
Decorating before fixing leaks
Laying new tile or paint over an active leak hides the problem and doubles the repair cost later.
Skipping waterproofing before tiling
Bathrooms and kitchens need a membrane under the tile, not above it, to protect the concrete substrate properly.
Splitting trades between separate contractors
Uncoordinated trades mean finished areas get broken open again when the next contractor starts their rough-in work.
Using interior paint on the facade
Exterior facades in Kuwait need paint rated for UV, intense heat and salt air, not standard interior emulsion.

How apartment renovation is done right in Kuwait
A successful renovation starts with a thorough site inspection that reveals the condition of concealed services before any decision is made. Plumbing, electrical wiring and waterproofing are addressed first, because burying them after finishes are in place means demolishing completed work again. In older Kuwaiti apartments, galvanised pipes are often corroded and existing circuits may not handle modern loads, so both need checking before the scope is agreed.
Once concealed layers are sorted, finishes follow in the right sequence: waterproofing membrane then tiling in bathrooms and the kitchen, gypsum ceilings to hide AC ducts before lighting is fitted, and paint applied only after gypsum joints are set and surfaces levelled. Material choice matters in Kuwait's climate: facades need UV-resistant coatings and windows need double-glazed aluminium frames to limit cooling loss through the envelope.
During execution there are checks that must not be skipped: verify the waterproofing coat before tiling, pressure-test plumbing lines before walls are closed, and confirm aluminium frame gaps are filled with backing rod and UV-stable sealant. Renovation done in the right sequence takes more time at the early stages but saves the owner from repeated repairs within a few years of handover.
What goes wrong with most finishing.
The finish is what you see every day, and its mistakes do not hide. These three are the most common.
01A rushed finish
The finish is what you live with every day. Rushing it shows in every corner.
02Four contractors for one finish
Tiling, gypsum, paint and aluminium crews who never talk to each other.
03After-care that never comes
Once you have the keys, it is hard to find anyone to come back and fix what shows up.
The solution?
Full finishing, and maintenance after it, from one licensed company.

What sets the price.
Each quote is shaped by the factors below and confirmed only after an on-site inspection.
Get a quoteApartment area and scope
Full renovation of a large apartment differs greatly from partial works on a small one.
Condition of existing finishes
An apartment needing full strip-out and new services costs considerably more than one in fair condition.
Finish grade chosen
Natural marble, high-spec aluminium and custom lighting all raise the total cost significantly.
Wet areas and waterproofing state
Bathrooms or kitchens requiring full waterproofing and replumbing add to the overall budget.
Site access difficulty
Upper-floor apartments without a service lift increase material delivery and debris removal costs.

Questions, answered.
Call nowCan the apartment be renovated while it is occupied?
Demolition, replumbing and rewiring require the apartment to be vacated for at least part of the works. Partial jobs like a single bathroom or repainting a room can often be done while the rest of the apartment remains occupied.
How do I know if the apartment needs full renovation or just partial work?
If the apartment has active leaks, old wiring that trips breakers and cracked or lifting floors, a full renovation is the practical choice. When the concealed services are in good shape, updating finishes only is enough.
Does apartment renovation include replacing aluminium windows?
Yes, replacing aluminium frames with double-glazed units is part of the service. In Kuwait, double glazing noticeably reduces cooling loss and prevents fine dust from entering through gaps in older frames.
What is the practical difference between renovating an apartment and renovating a villa?
An apartment has tighter access, less storage space on site and neighbours on all sides, so noisy works need scheduling carefully. The external facade also usually requires coordination with the building management before any works begin.
Can thermal insulation be added to an existing apartment without demolishing the walls?
An external insulation coating can be applied to the facade, or thin insulation boards can be fixed to the inner face of outer walls. The right method depends on the current wall and window condition assessed during the inspection.
Can the renovation be carried out in separate phases under one contractor?
Yes, the works can be split into connected phases, starting with services and wet areas then moving to finishes. Keeping all phases under one contractor avoids opening up previously completed work when the next phase begins.
