Call nowWhat is the difference between full retiling and a tile overlay in a bathroom?
Full retiling removes the old tiles, repairs the substrate and applies a fresh waterproof membrane, addressing any hidden damage. A tile overlay keeps the original tiles in place but gives no access to the substrate and cannot fix an existing leak or a failed waterproofing layer.
Does waterproofing need to cover the full wall height or just the floor?
The full floor area and a band of at least 20 cm up the walls must be waterproofed, with full coverage inside the shower zone. This prevents water spray from migrating into adjacent walls over time.
Is epoxy grout necessary in Kuwaiti bathrooms or does cement grout suffice?
Epoxy grout is strongly recommended in wet areas because it does not absorb moisture, does not crack under thermal movement and resists mould far better than cement grout. Cement grout remains an option in dry zones but deteriorates quickly in bathroom conditions.
How can I check that the bathroom floor slope is correct after retiling?
Pour a cup of water at the centre of the floor; it should flow steadily toward the drain without pooling. We check and set the correct slope during the screeding stage, before any tile is laid.
Can the tile colour be changed without changing the tile format or size?
Yes, a different colour in the same size is straightforward to specify. Changing the format size affects the starting point and joint layout and requires re-planning the installation, so confirm the tile size before ordering to avoid waste.
