Call nowIs over-tile waterproofing a permanent alternative to stripping the roof and starting fresh?
It is a long-lasting solution when the underlying concrete deck is sound and tiles are firmly bonded. If the deck has deep structural cracking or tiles are hollow over large areas, full removal may be the more practical route.
Why do tiled roofs in Kuwait fail more quickly than in milder climates?
Large daily temperature swings expand and contract the tile bed repeatedly, which breaks down grout and sealant. Fine dust also collects in micro-gaps and widens them over time, giving water a direct path to the concrete deck.
Can the coating be applied during Kuwait's summer heat?
Yes, but application is scheduled for early morning before tile surfaces overheat. Tiles that are extremely hot alter curing speed and can affect coating spread, so timing the application is part of proper planning.
Does over-tile waterproofing help reduce heat in the top floor?
Some reflective coating types reduce surface heat absorption slightly, but the primary purpose of this service is waterproofing rather than thermal insulation. For meaningful heat reduction, a separate thermal insulation layer should be added.
How many coats are enough for a tiled roof in Kuwait?
The number depends on the coating type, exposure level and whether the roof sees foot traffic. Typically two coats cover the general field while three are applied at joints, penetrations and edges where stress concentrates.
