Call nowCan foam be sprayed directly over existing roof tiles?
Old tiles are usually removed because foam bonds best to a firm, clean substrate. If tiles are fully sound and crack-free, spraying over them after thorough cleaning is sometimes possible. The site inspection determines which approach is right.
How does closed-cell foam differ from open-cell foam for roof use?
Closed-cell foam is rigid, water-resistant and denser, making it suitable for roofs exposed to rain and Kuwait's heat. Open-cell foam is lighter and cheaper but does not offer the same moisture resistance, so it is rarely used on exposed roof decks.
Can you walk on the foam surface after it is applied?
Cured closed-cell foam tolerates light maintenance foot traffic. Repeated heavy loads are not recommended as they can compress the layer over time and reduce its uniformity.
How long must I wait before running top-floor AC units after foam spraying?
Indoor AC units do not need to be switched off. Condenser units on the roof are masked before spraying and uncovered immediately after, so there is no interruption to cooling inside the building.
Does foam alone protect the roof from UV rays, or is a topcoat required?
Uncoated foam degrades quickly under direct UV exposure in Kuwait's climate and loses its properties. A UV-resistant elastomeric topcoat is applied over the foam as an integral part of the correct installation, not an optional extra.
