Signs your wood needs repainting

Call nowWhat is the difference between oil-based paint and polyurethane for wood?
Oil-based paint penetrates and protects from within but yellows over time. Polyurethane forms a hard surface film that resists scratching and moisture better, making it well suited to exterior doors in Kuwait's climate.
Can dark stained wood be repainted in a light colour without full stripping?
Usually yes, but it requires thorough sanding and a strong blocking primer before the light colour. If the old paint is broadly lifting or peeling, full stripping gives a more durable result.
How often do exterior wooden doors need repainting in Kuwait?
Intense sun and UV degrade paint faster than in milder climates. Exterior doors in direct sun typically need refreshing sooner than those sheltered under a canopy or porch.
Can kitchen cabinets be painted without removing them?
Yes. Doors and drawers are removed and painted flat for even coats, while fixed carcasses are painted in place with the kitchen well protected. This method delivers a clean result without full dismantling.
Does Kuwait's heat affect drying time for wood paint?
Intense heat speeds surface drying but can trap solvents if the next coat is applied too soon. Working in the early morning and avoiding peak heat gives the paint time to cure properly between coats.
