Call nowCan exterior painting be done in summer or is it better to wait?
Exterior painting is possible in summer but midday direct heat must be avoided. Working in the early morning and late afternoon allows the paint to cure properly without blistering or cracking caused by extreme surface temperatures.
How many coats does an exterior facade need in Kuwait?
An exterior facade typically needs one primer coat and at least two topcoats. Older or repaired surfaces often require an extra primer pass to ensure full coverage and consistent colour hold across the entire surface.
Does exterior paint help reduce heat inside the building?
Reflective exterior coatings reduce heat absorption through the facade wall and ease the load on air conditioning. This is not a substitute for thermal insulation but it adds a meaningful protective layer when the right paint grade is used.
Why does exterior paint crack quickly on newly built walls?
New walls go through a settling and gradual movement phase. Painting before this stabilises, or without a proper primer, leads to early cracking. A flexible filler and alkali-blocking primer extend the life of the paint coat significantly.
Can new paint be applied directly over the existing old coat?
If the old coat is stable and firmly bonded, painting over it after cleaning and light scuffing is acceptable. Peeling or flaking zones must be stripped first, otherwise the new coat will lift from the same areas within a short time.
