Call nowIs the polishing process different for natural marble, engineered stone and granite?
Yes. Natural marble responds to chemical crystallisation because it contains calcite. Granite and engineered stone are polished mechanically with diamond discs only and do not react to crystallisation compounds.
Can marble polishing be done while the house is occupied?
It is possible with coordination. Grinding produces water and fine slurry, so we work in sections and protect furniture. The crystallisation compound releases light fumes that require good ventilation during and shortly after application.
How frequently does marble need repolishing in Kuwait given the fine dust conditions?
There is no fixed interval because it depends on foot traffic, stone hardness and daily cleaning quality. A crystallised surface resists scratching longer than an untreated one under the same conditions.
Can acid etch marks from cleaning products be fully removed by polishing?
Shallow etch marks disappear with polishing and crystallisation. Deep etching that has pitted the surface can be reduced significantly but may not vanish entirely if the pitting is noticeable to the touch.
Does repeated polishing change the colour or thin the marble over time?
Diamond grinding removes a very thin layer with each pass. Limited repetition does not noticeably affect stone colour or thickness. Unnecessary grinding or using too coarse a disc is what causes visible changes to the surface.
