Call nowCan corian be installed over an existing marble worktop without removing it?
In most cases the old worktop must come off because corian needs a level substrate and the cabinets must carry the added weight. Leaving the old surface in place often raises the level and prevents proper basin seating.
How does a corian joint differ from a marble joint?
Corian is heat-welded and sanded so the joint disappears and holds no water or bacteria. Marble is joined with mortar or epoxy that remains visible and can crack over time.
Does corian withstand the intense heat inside Kuwaiti kitchens?
Corian handles moderate heat well but can mark under direct high heat such as hot pots placed directly on it. Using heat mats under hot cookware protects the surface.
Can a scratch or chip in a corian surface be repaired after installation?
Yes, this is one of corian's practical advantages. Surface scratches can be sanded and buffed out on site without replacing the whole panel. Deep chips need localised welding and sanding.
Is corian suitable for bathrooms as well as kitchens?
Corian is widely used in bathrooms for vanity tops, shower walls and bath surrounds. Its non-porous surface resists the moisture and coastal salt that affect other materials in Kuwait.
