Yes, exterior board insulation is fixed directly to the existing wall without demolition, provided the surface condition allows for proper adhesion and mechanical anchoring.
Does exterior wall insulation change the appearance of the building facade?
Exterior insulation adds a few centimetres to the wall thickness. The finished surface is a coloured render or facade paint, and the colour can be matched to the original design.
What is the practical difference between interior and exterior wall insulation?
Exterior insulation protects the structural wall from thermal cycling and delivers better performance. Interior insulation is used when the facade cannot be altered, but it slightly reduces room area.
Do wall insulation boards need periodic maintenance in Kuwait?
The render coat or cladding layer needs periodic checking for cracks. The boards themselves, when properly protected, do not require frequent intervention.
Is insulating interior partition walls between rooms worthwhile in Kuwait?
Insulating interior partition walls is more useful for sound separation between rooms than for thermal performance, because the temperature difference between two air-conditioned rooms is small. Thermal gains are always greatest from exterior walls.
