Call nowIs polyurethane foam suitable for roofs that have foot traffic?
Foam alone is not a walking surface, but once covered with a hard protective coat or tiled over a suitable screed it can handle regular foot traffic on a roof terrace.
What is the difference between open-cell and closed-cell polyurethane foam?
Closed-cell foam is denser, moisture-resistant and delivers better thermal performance per centimetre, making it the right choice for Kuwait's exteriors. Open-cell foam is lighter and softer, suited only to certain interior applications.
Can foam be sprayed directly over old insulation instead of removing it?
If the old insulation is fully bonded and free of trapped moisture or blistering, spraying over it is possible. Separated or damp old insulation must be removed first, otherwise the new foam will not bond correctly to the substrate.
How does Kuwait's sun affect foam left exposed without a protective coat?
UV radiation in Kuwait degrades exposed foam rapidly, turning its surface brittle and powdery. A UV-resistant protective top coat is therefore an essential part of any exterior foam insulation system, not an optional extra.
Is foam insulation suitable for external walls of commercial buildings?
Yes, foam is applied to commercial building exteriors particularly where the geometry is complex or access makes board installation difficult. It is coated immediately after curing with a protective finish suited to the facade.
