What sets this area apart

Sabahiya is a coastal area with mid-rise residential buildings and exterior walls 25 to 30 centimetres of concrete and brick, exposed to humid sea winds and salt spray. Humidity and salt gradually penetrate walls causing internal rust and concrete erosion. East and north-facing walls face continuous sea moisture, west-facing walls face sun heat with moisture. Before insulation, we remove salt and surface moisture by intensive washing and drying, then apply salt-resistant exterior insulation. Interior insulation may trap moisture causing later problems.

Sabahiya sits in Ahmadi governorate, a coastal residential area near the Gulf where salt and moisture affect exterior walls.

Coastal walls in Sabahiya experience sea humidity of 80 to 90 percent relative humidity on most days of the year.

Questions about Wall thermal insulation in Sabahiya

Call now
Does insulation protect against sea moisture and salt spray?

Insulation alone does not protect from salt and moisture. We use salt-resistant insulation with a liquid base layer that prevents moisture absorption before installing the insulation. We deep-clean walls first to remove old salt and moisture, then apply exterior insulation only.

How many times do we need to clean walls of salt and moisture before insulation?

We inspect walls with specialised moisture meters and test surface salt levels. One intensive wash may suffice for surface salt, but if moisture is deep in the wall, we need prolonged drying before insulation installation to ensure moisture does not get trapped.
