Call nowCan SPC be installed directly over existing ceramic tiles in Kuwait?
Yes, provided the existing tiles are firm, flat and dry. Any raised or cracked tiles must be removed or filled first, because even small ridges telegraph through the new boards over time.
Why do vinyl boards produce a hollow sound when walked on?
The main cause is voids under the board from an uneven substrate or incomplete adhesive contact. With floating installations it usually means the levelling layer was insufficient before the boards were placed.
Is vinyl flooring suitable for coastal Kuwait's high humidity?
Yes, both SPC and flexible vinyl are waterproof at the board level and suit humid coastal environments. The key is using a moisture-resistant adhesive when gluing flexible vinyl in those areas.
Can vinyl flooring be used in kitchens and bathrooms?
Yes, with sealed skirting at the walls to stop water reaching under the boards. In bathrooms the substrate still needs waterproofing beforehand; vinyl flooring is not a substitute for a membrane.
How does vinyl flooring compare to engineered wood for longevity in Kuwait?
Vinyl and SPC handle Kuwait's humidity swings and temperature extremes better than engineered wood. Engineered wood requires periodic surface recoating, while vinyl needs no such treatment to maintain its wear layer.
