Often yes; a short height difference can be bridged with a flexible hose or extended trap. A large difference means re-routing the supply or drain stub, which involves some breaking out.
Why does scale build up around the drain opening of an ablution basin so quickly in Kuwait?
Kuwait's supply water is high in calcium and magnesium. Fast evaporation in the warm air leaves white deposits on the drain rim and trap. Regular cleaning with a mild acid-based descaler keeps the drain clear.
Should an ablution basin be fixed at a different height from a regular washbasin?
Yes. An ablution basin is used in a seated or semi-crouching position, so it is typically fixed lower than a standard washbasin. We confirm the preferred height with the owner before drilling.
Can an ablution basin be installed in a home prayer room that has no existing water connections?
It is possible, but it requires running new supply and drain lines from the nearest existing point, with breaking out along the route. We identify the shortest practical route during the site visit.
When should the brass trap on an ablution basin be replaced rather than cleaned?
Replace the trap when the body shows visible corrosion or cracking, or when a drip persists after a new washer. Heavy scale that fully blocks the bore is also a sign that cleaning alone will not restore proper flow.
