Does fibreglass tank repair differ from polyethylene welding?
Yes. Fibreglass is repaired with resin and glass-fibre mat to restore structural integrity, while polyethylene uses hot-air welding with a matching filler rod. Each method suits its material.
Does mineral scale on the tank walls affect the weld?
Yes. Calcium deposits in the weld zone must be removed before starting to ensure proper bonding. Surface cleanliness is a basic requirement for a sound weld.
How do I know the weld has held after refilling?
The tank is filled to full operating level and monitored for a sufficient period. No seepage and a stable water level confirm the repair is successful.
