Call nowWhat is the difference between tank restoration and epoxy lining?
Restoration addresses structural damage such as cracks and crumbling render before any protective coat is applied. Epoxy lining is a protective finish applied to a surface that is already structurally sound. Restoration typically precedes lining when the tank has deteriorated.
Can a plastic tank be restored the same way as a concrete one?
No. Concrete needs mechanical preparation and repair mortar, while plastic requires thermal welding or a resin compatible with polyethylene. The materials and tools are entirely different, so the approach changes with the tank material.
How does Kuwait's hard water affect the interior of a concrete tank?
Dissolved calcium and magnesium build up as hard scale on interior walls, accelerating erosion of weak render and hiding fine cracks beneath the deposit. This is why scale must be fully removed before the surface can be properly assessed.
Can restoration work be done while the tank still holds some water?
No. Crack fillers and repair mortars need a dry surface for proper adhesion. Any remaining moisture weakens the bond and accelerates peeling. The tank must be fully drained and dried before work can begin.
When is restoration not enough and the tank needs full replacement?
When external cracking is severe, rebar is corroded, or damaged area exceeds sound structure, restoration cannot give a lasting result. In those cases full replacement is more economical than repeated repair attempts.
