Yes. Roof tanks sit in direct sun and high temperatures, which raise the stored water temperature and accelerate algae and bacterial growth. As a result they typically need cleaning more often than underground tanks.
Can the roof tank be cleaned without recoating the interior?
Yes, if the existing interior coating is intact and undamaged. We inspect the lining during cleaning and flag any deterioration, but cleaning and disinfection are completed as a standalone service regardless.
How many roof tanks does a typical Kuwaiti villa have?
Most Kuwaiti villas have one or two roof tanks, sometimes separate units for cold and hot water supply. We clean all roof tanks in one visit so no contaminated source is left behind.
Does Kuwait's dust affect a roof tank between cleaning sessions?
It can, if the lid or vent screen is not properly sealed. Fine dust settles inside and provides a nutrient source for algae. That is why we check and reseal the lid and vent at the end of every cleaning visit.
Is the water safe to use immediately after the tank is refilled?
Yes, once disinfection is complete and the chlorine solution has been applied at the correct strength and flushed out. We verify water clarity before handover and recommend running a tap briefly before full use.
