What old-house renovation covers
Structural and finish repairs, wet areas, facades, insulation and service lines in aged Kuwaiti houses.

Walls and ceilings
Crack injection, replastering and new gypsum ceiling installation.

Floors and interior finishes
Remove old floors, level the base and lay marble or porcelain.

Facade and entrance
Repair rendered facade and apply heat-reflective exterior coating.

Roof and insulation
Renew roof waterproofing and thermal insulation before any new finish.

Bathrooms and kitchens
Full wet-area overhaul with leak treatment and waterproofing.

Service networks
Replace or reroute aged plumbing and electrical lines throughout.
Materials and methods used
Polymer-modified repair mortar
Used to fill spalled and eroded wall areas; its flexibility resists thermal movement in aged masonry.
Epoxy resin injection
Injected into structural cracks to bond and strengthen concrete or blockwork without demolition.
Bituminous waterproofing membrane
Heat-applied to old roofs and bathroom floors; withstands Kuwait's extreme roof temperatures without cracking.
Elastomeric reflective exterior paint
Bridges hairline cracks, reflects solar radiation, reduces interior heat load and protects the facade surface.
Common mistakes in old-house renovation
Painting over damp walls
Paint peels within months if the moisture source is not fixed and walls fully dried first.
Tiling before waterproofing
Laying new tiles directly over old ones without a waterproofing layer causes recurring leaks and tile debonding.
Ignoring old wiring
Aged exposed wiring inside old house walls is a fire risk if left in place during renovation.
Filling cracks with gypsum filler
Gypsum absorbs moisture and breaks apart again; cracks need injection or polymer mortar, not surface filler.

What goes wrong with most finishing.
The finish is what you see every day, and its mistakes do not hide. These three are the most common.
01A rushed finish
The finish is what you live with every day. Rushing it shows in every corner.
02Four contractors for one finish
Tiling, gypsum, paint and aluminium crews who never talk to each other.
03After-care that never comes
Once you have the keys, it is hard to find anyone to come back and fix what shows up.
The solution?
Full finishing, and maintenance after it, from one licensed company.

What sets the price.
No fixed price list applies; these 5 factors shape the quote for each old house.
Get a quoteHouse size and floor count
Total area and number of floors set material quantities and labour hours.
Building age and condition
Older houses often need structural repair and service replacement beyond cosmetic finishing.
Demolition scope
Breaking out old floors, walls and networks adds significant cost and work time.
Finish grade selected
Natural marble and large-format porcelain cost considerably more than standard ceramic tile.
Site access conditions
Tight parking or restricted access streets complicate material delivery and affect pricing.

Questions, answered.
Call nowCan an old house be renovated in phases rather than all at once?
Yes, but structural repairs and waterproofing must always come first. Deferring them damages new finishes applied in earlier phases and increases total cost.
Does every old house need its plumbing and electrical networks replaced?
Not always. We inspect both networks during the survey. Corroded pipes or non-standard electrical modifications found in older houses generally require replacement for safety.
Can thermal insulation be added to the inside face of old house walls?
Insulation boards can be fixed to the interior wall face or an insulating coat applied within the plastering stage. Both reduce cooling load and improve indoor comfort.
How do you deal with drain odours that come up through old house floor drains during renovation?
When breaking out floors we inspect floor traps and drain seals. Damaged or dry traps are replaced and joints sealed properly before any new tiling is laid.
Is it practical to keep living in the old house while renovation work is under way?
Partial renovation allows occupancy, but full demolition, dust and service interruptions make whole-house renovation difficult to live through. We plan the work sequence around your situation.
