Yes. Selective breaking targets specific areas only, such as the shower floor, while the WC or basin stays in place if access to adjacent surfaces does not require removing them.
How is the building's drain network protected from rubble during breaking?
All drain outlets are capped with temporary plugs before breaking starts, preventing tile dust and fragments from entering the drain pipes and causing a blockage downstream.
Does stripping always reveal a waterproofing failure beneath the tiles?
Not always, but older Kuwaiti bathrooms often reveal cracked or deteriorated membranes once tiles are off. The condition is documented as soon as surfaces are exposed so the waterproofing scope can be confirmed.
Can removed bathroom tiles be reused somewhere else?
Mechanical breaking usually cracks most tiles or leaves them with thick mortar backing. If specific tiles must be saved intact, the team needs to know in advance so manual removal tools are used instead.
Does stripping a bathroom in an apartment block require approval from building management?
Many Kuwaiti residential buildings require building management to be notified before breaking works, particularly regarding permitted working hours and noise. Checking with management before scheduling the job is advisable.
