Call nowDoes shower glass have to be tempered?
Yes, tempered glass is required in shower enclosures because it shatters into small blunt pieces rather than sharp shards. Standard float glass is not acceptable in a shower screen.
Why does white scale build up on shower glass in Kuwait?
Kuwait's water is high in calcium and magnesium. When water evaporates it leaves white mineral deposits on the glass. Regular cleaning with a mild acidic cleaner prevents heavy build-up.
Can a frameless shower screen be fixed to existing tiles?
Yes, but the wall behind the tiles must be solid masonry or concrete. Brackets fixed to tiles over an unsecured gypsum backing can work loose over time.
How long does shower silicone last before it needs replacing?
In Kuwaiti bathrooms with high humidity and hot water use, silicone can crack or discolour within a few years. Resealing as soon as any crack appears stops water reaching the wall structure.
Is a sliding screen better than a pivot door for a small bathroom?
A sliding screen needs no swing clearance in front of it, which suits narrow bathrooms. A pivot door has fewer moving parts and is easier to clean, making it practical for standard-sized enclosures.
