Call nowCan mechanical fixing go directly over existing cladding without removing it?
Usually no. If the old cladding is debonded or cracked it must come off because anchors need to reach the structural wall, not a weak layer. Fixing over sound, well-bonded existing cladding is sometimes possible after a careful assessment.
Why do stone anchors corrode quickly in Kuwait's coastal areas?
Salt-laden air enters through panel joints and attacks plain steel very quickly. Anchors made from the correct grade of stainless steel resist this corrosion far better than coated carbon-steel alternatives.
What is the practical difference between mechanical fixing and mortar bedding?
Mortar bonds to the surface but loses that bond when the wall expands under intense heat or vibrates. Mechanical brackets carry the panel load physically regardless of mortar condition, making them the right choice for tall or large facades.
Can just the detached panels be re-fixed without redoing the whole facade?
Yes, if the surrounding panels still test sound. We tap and pull-test adjacent panels before defining the scope, because re-fixing one panel next to others that are failing does not solve the problem.
How does Kuwait's thermal movement affect the joint gaps between stone panels?
The wide gap between day and night temperatures in summer means stone expands and contracts daily. Joints filled with flexible sealant rather than rigid mortar absorb this movement and prevent panel edges from cracking.
