Call nowCan the pump be mounted directly on the roof or does it need to be in a pump room?
Rooftop mounting is possible if the pump is shaded and protected from direct sun, since Kuwait's heat degrades seals and motor windings when left exposed. A pump room or weatherproof enclosure gives better protection and reduces noise.
Why does my roof-tank pump cut out more often in summer than in winter?
High ambient temperatures cause the motor's thermal overload to trip when the pump runs long cycles without adequate ventilation. Summer water demand also rises, so the pump runs harder and heats up faster.
Does Kuwait's hard water cause any specific problems for roof-tank pumps?
Yes. Mineral scale builds inside the pump casing and impeller, gradually reducing flow and increasing energy draw. Periodic filter cleaning and a scale check during servicing prevent deposits from causing permanent damage.
Is a check valve necessary with a roof-tank transfer pump?
A check valve is essential. Without it, water drains back to the ground tank when the pump stops, causing the pump to restart against a slack line and risking dry-run damage on the next start cycle.
Can two pumps be connected to the same roof tank?
Yes. A duty-standby arrangement is common in larger buildings, with one pump active and the other on standby. Alternating-duty control panels share run hours evenly. Each pump requires its own isolation valves and check valve on the discharge.
