Call nowCan a cesspit pump be installed in an existing basement without major excavation?
In most cases yes, if the pit already exists. The submersible pump is lowered in and a uPVC discharge line is run along an available route. Excavation is limited to burying the pipe where the path requires it.
Why does a cesspit pump fail more often in summer months?
High ambient temperatures raise the motor temperature of a submerged pump. If the pump is undersized or the float is poorly calibrated, frequent short cycles cause overheating. A check before summer significantly reduces this risk.
How does Kuwait's hard water affect a cesspit pump over time?
Mineral deposits from hard water gradually coat the pump impeller and pit walls, reducing flow and straining the motor. Periodic descaling and pump inspection extend its working life.
Is one pump always enough, or are two pumps sometimes required?
Large buildings or high-flow applications benefit from a duty-standby arrangement so one pump covers servicing of the other. For a typical residential house, a single correctly sized pump is sufficient.
Does the cesspit pump discharge pipe need a slope, or does pump pressure alone move the water?
A submersible pump operates under pressure and can push water vertically and horizontally, so a continuous slope is not required. Avoiding sharp bends and fitting a check valve are essential to prevent backflow.
