How the work is done properly
Before any installation, the exact duty must be defined: transferring water from ground to roof tank, boosting network pressure, circulating hot water, or emptying a cesspit or sewage sump. Each duty calls for a pump rated at the right static head and flow. Kuwait's mineral-heavy water attacks pump internals exposed to hot water, so corrosion-resistant impeller and casing materials are chosen from the outset, not as an afterthought.
A pressure vessel is fitted alongside every pressure pump to buffer demand and prevent short-cycling, then the pressure switch is calibrated to match the building's actual requirements. For hot-water circulation pumps, the unit is placed on the return leg and flow direction is verified before commissioning. Submersible pumps for cesspits and sewage sumps get a float switch set at the correct activation depth, paired with a check valve on the discharge line to prevent backflow when the pump stops.
After installation, a full commissioning check is carried out: the cut-in and cut-out pressures are measured at the switch, motor current draw is compared against the nameplate rating to confirm no overload, and all joints are checked for leaks under working pressure. Vibration levels are assessed to verify the anti-vibration mounts are effective. On sewage and cesspit pumps, the float switch is tested manually before the team leaves, and a periodic service interval is recommended to clear scale from the pump inlet.

This is called short-cycling. It is usually caused by a waterlogged pressure vessel that has lost its air charge, or a pressure switch set too close together. Continuing to run in this condition burns out the motor quickly.
Can a hot-water circulation pump be added to an existing house?
Yes, provided there is an existing return pipe or one can be added. The pump is fitted on the return leg and connected to a power supply. If no return line exists, one must be run before the pump can be installed.
What is the difference between a cesspit pump and a sewage pump?
A cesspit pump empties a collection tank for suction tankers or the network. A sewage pump forces waste through a pressurised discharge line when the drain point sits below the gravity sewer level.
How does scale from Kuwait's hard water affect pumps?
Mineral deposits build up on the impeller and block the inlet strainer, reducing flow and increasing the load on the motor. Periodic cleaning of the inlet and impeller is the main way to extend pump life in Kuwait's hard-water conditions.
Do I need a separate pressure pump if I already have ground and roof tanks?
Usually not, if the roof tank sits high enough to supply all floors with adequate pressure by gravity. A booster pump is added only when upper floors receive insufficient pressure, and it is sized specifically for that duty.
What does a periodic pump maintenance contract typically cover?
It normally covers motor inspection and current measurement, cleaning the inlet strainer and impeller of scale, checking the float switch, pressure switch and pressure vessel, and replacing worn components. The frequency of visits is set based on pump duty and water quality.
