Stone alone is not sufficient in a long run; reinforced concrete tie columns at regular intervals prevent bulging and leaning, especially in soft soil or near vehicle gate openings. Without them a tall stone wall can lose alignment over time.
Does natural stone hold up well against Kuwait's intense heat and frequent dust?
Cut limestone or sandstone handles high temperatures well. The weak point is the mortar joint; sulphate-resistant mortar is essential. Dust settles in joints without affecting structural strength, and the wall face can be brushed clean as needed.
Can lighting or camera conduits be built into a stone boundary wall?
Yes, electrical conduits can be embedded in tie columns or behind stone courses during construction before joints are closed. Routing cables after the wall is complete requires cutting into the stone, which is harder than cutting concrete block, so planning ahead is important.
What is the practical difference between natural stone and pressed manufactured stone for a boundary wall?
Natural stone gives a more distinctive appearance but requires dressing to achieve uniform thickness. Manufactured stone arrives at consistent dimensions, speeds construction and reduces waste. Its resistance to salinity is often better due to controlled production additives.
Can a stone boundary wall be built on a leased plot rather than an owned one?
It depends on the lease terms and any required official approvals. We review site documents before starting because building a permanent wall on a leased plot may require written consent from the landowner and relevant authority approval.
