Floor-to-floor soundproofing in Kuwait - Yarmouk

Floor-to-floor soundproofing in Yarmouk

In Yarmouk, sound isolation between floors is driven by closely spaced multi-storey residential buildings. We identify impact paths through slabs and install decoupling separators with tightly sealed finished surfaces.

What sets this area apart

Yarmouk is marked by closely spaced residential blocks on medium-sized plots, mostly five to eight storeys built in different periods. Noise from the floor above is a common complaint because wiring, pipes and footsteps travel straight through the solid concrete ceiling. When carrying out soundproofing, we scan pre-made frames (drywall and elastic supports) and test gaps before installation to avoid acoustic bridges. The finished layers of specialist gypsum boards and metallic insulation reduce impact noise by 30 to 40 decibels.

Yarmouk is in the Capital governorate, home to the Yarmouk Co-op and the Yarmouk Sports Club.

Buildings in Yarmouk typically stand at five to eight storeys, with clearance between concrete slabs and flooring from 25 to 30 cm.

What the work covers - Floor-to-floor soundproofing

What the work covers

Survey impact paths through the slab, then install decoupling layers and finished surfaces

  • Impact path survey

Locate where impact noise travels through the slab and columns

  • Resilient underlay layer

Dense resilient mat installed between the slab and the floating screed

  • Floating floor build-up

Compression screed poured over the mat without rigid contact with walls

  • Perimeter isolation strip

Resilient strip around the room perimeter blocks vibration transfer through the wall base

  • Decoupled ceiling below

Suspended ceiling hung on resilient channels breaks the downward vibration path

  • Post-installation check

Impact tap test confirms direct sound paths are sealed before handover

How it works.

  1. Call or whatsApp

Describe the affected floor and noise type to book the site visit

  2. Site survey

We inspect the slab, existing floor and map the impact transmission paths

  3. Quotation

You receive a detailed quote covering materials, method and work schedule

  4. Layer installation

Resilient mat, floating screed, perimeter strip and ceiling work installed to spec

  5. Test and handover

Impact tap test confirms sound paths are closed before final handover

Questions about Floor-to-floor soundproofing in Yarmouk

Call now
Does floor soundproofing require lifting the entire floor or can frames be installed from below only?

The best option is to lift the floor to remove dirt and moisture from under the old ceiling, then install frames at safe distances. If that is not possible, we mount them from below with suspended plaster, but the result is less effective.

Does humidity affect the quality of soundproofing after installation?

Yes, high humidity can affect gypsum boards and insulation over time. We use moisture-resistant materials and install proper ventilation in the sealed cavity to reduce condensation and dampness.
