Floor-to-floor soundproofing in Kuwait - Kuwait City

Floor-to-floor soundproofing in Kuwait City

Sound isolation between floors in Kuwait City requires precise surveying of impact paths through concrete slabs. We install decoupling layers and finished surfaces to cut impact noise between adjacent residential units.

What sets this area apart

Kuwait City contains multi-storey residential buildings and mixed-use towers, many built decades ago with heavy concrete slabs and no original acoustic treatment. Footsteps and furniture noise from the floor above travel straight through the ceiling because the only air gap is standard paint and gypsum. When we carry out the isolation, we lift the existing floor, mount suspended frames with decoupling gaps, then cover them with gypsum and acoustic panels before final finishing.

Kuwait City is in the Capital governorate, where the Grand Mosque, Kuwait Towers and Liberation Square are located.

Concrete slabs in older Kuwait City buildings are typically 25 cm thick and require an additional air gap of at least 8 cm above them.

What the work covers - Floor-to-floor soundproofing

What the work covers

Survey impact paths through the slab, then install decoupling layers and finished surfaces

  • Impact path survey

Locate where impact noise travels through the slab and columns

  • Resilient underlay layer

Dense resilient mat installed between the slab and the floating screed

  • Floating floor build-up

Compression screed poured over the mat without rigid contact with walls

  • Perimeter isolation strip

Resilient strip around the room perimeter blocks vibration transfer through the wall base

  • Decoupled ceiling below

Suspended ceiling hung on resilient channels breaks the downward vibration path

  • Post-installation check

Impact tap test confirms direct sound paths are sealed before handover

How it works.

  1. Call or whatsApp

Describe the affected floor and noise type to book the site visit

  2. Site survey

We inspect the slab, existing floor and map the impact transmission paths

  3. Quotation

You receive a detailed quote covering materials, method and work schedule

  4. Layer installation

Resilient mat, floating screed, perimeter strip and ceiling work installed to spec

  5. Test and handover

Impact tap test confirms sound paths are closed before final handover

Questions about Floor-to-floor soundproofing in Kuwait City

Call now
How do we cut footstep noise from the upper unit without removing the existing floor tile?

We lift the existing tile and sand layer, mount metal frames on decoupling brackets suspended from the ceiling, then install acoustic insulation and gypsum boards before resurfacing and new tiling.

Does floor-to-floor soundproofing reduce the room height of the unit?

Yes, the height will reduce by approximately 10 to 12 cm for the suspended frames, insulation and finished surface. This clearance must be confirmed before work begins.
