Call nowWhat is the difference between a shutter door and a window shutter?
A shutter door is built for full-height entrance openings like shops and warehouses, so its panels are thicker and its drum and spring assembly is heavier. A window shutter is lighter and designed for smaller window or balcony openings.
Can a motorised shutter door be fitted to an existing warehouse entrance?
Yes. We measure the existing opening, fabricate the door to fit and wire the motor to the nearest power source. If the headroom above the opening is limited, a projecting steel bracket for the drum box may be needed.
Are steel panels better than aluminium for a commercial shopfront door?
Steel is stiffer and offers higher forced-entry resistance, but is heavier and more prone to rust in coastal areas. Aluminium is lighter, corrosion-resistant and suits visible commercial facades. The right choice depends on your security priority and location.
How does Kuwait's fine dust affect shutter door tracks?
Fine dust builds up inside the side tracks, causing friction that slows movement and strains the motor. Periodic track cleaning and lubrication prevents this build-up and extends the door's working life.
Can a shutter door be installed without breaking into the wall?
Usually yes, if an existing lintel or frame above the opening allows the bracket and drum box to be bolted onto it. Where no solid support exists, a steel sub-frame is anchored into the wall with chemical bolts rather than full demolition.
