What sets this area apart

Zahraa comprises residential villas with wide courtyards exposed to winter rains and extreme summer heat. The courtyard concrete substrate requires careful surface preparation and smooth levelling before tiling, because even small high spots pool water and cause tile cracking in thermal cycles. We lay a waterproof membrane and clay dams precisely to ensure water flows toward dedicated drains, and grout joints are set at least 5 mm deep to absorb concrete movement.

Zahraa is in Hawalli governorate, a residential villa district with wide open courtyards fully exposed to the elements.

Courtyard tiles require a minimum fall of 1 per cent toward drainage points to prevent water pooling.

Questions about Courtyard tiling in Zahraa

Call now
How do you prevent courtyard tile cracking from heat and cold?

We choose tiles rated for thermal shock, leave expansion joints at least 5 mm deep between pieces, and these gaps absorb concrete movement under the tiles as temperatures swing.

What if the courtyard has no slope toward the drain?

We level the concrete substrate with a bedding layer of sand and cement mortar before tiling to achieve at least 1 per cent fall toward the drain point.
