What sets this area apart

Khalidiya is a dense cluster of 6, 10 storey apartment blocks on tightly packed plots with narrow streets and a central park. Red roofs and metal surfaces generate rapid runoff in heavy rain, and combined flows from dozens of buildings need a robust collection network with sumps and main header pipes under the primary street. Tight gaps between buildings limit excavation options, so we rely on deeper pipes and lift stations where natural slope is insufficient.

Khalidiya is in Capital governorate, a high-density residential cluster near Khalidiya Park.

Peak storm discharge from dense apartment blocks requires lift stations at intervals of 80, 120 metres where natural gradient is insufficient.

What the design covers - Storm-drain network design

What the design covers

Complete design from flow calculation through to construction-ready drawings

  • Runoff calculation

Sizing the network to the catchment area and surface slopes

  • Pipe diameter selection

Selecting each pipe section diameter to carry peak flow without surcharging

  • Network routing plan

Mapping pipe routes to avoid clashes with other service lines

  • Gradient and invert levels

Setting gradients and invert levels so water flows by gravity throughout

  • Inspection chamber layout

Positioning and sizing chambers at every junction and change of direction

  • Construction drawings

Producing dimensioned drawings and level schedules ready for site execution

How it works.

  1. Initial contact

Call or WhatsApp us to describe the site and request a visit

  2. Site survey

We visit, record levels, and collect any existing building drawings

  3. Hydraulic calculations

We calculate flow, select diameters, and set gradients for every pipe run

  4. Drawing production

We produce fully dimensioned construction drawings with levels and structural details

  5. Handover and review

We hand over drawings and walk through any revisions before site work begins

Questions about Storm-drain network design in Khalidiya

Call now
How do you consolidate stormwater from dozens of apartment blocks into one network?

We divide the area into small drainage zones, each serving 2, 3 blocks. Each zone has a sump and branch header that connects to larger headers beneath the main street with progressively bigger diameters, leading to a lift station or main network.

Can you excavate tight gaps between buildings to lay pipes?

It depends on depth and width. If the gap is under 1.5 metres, we use flexible pipes and angled boring from the adjacent street or from different sumps. If deeper than 1.5 metres, we may need an intermediate lift station.
