Rooftop annex in Kuwait - Khitan

Rooftop annex in Khitan

Rooftop annexes in Khitan are often built on older residential structures, so we start with thorough inspection of the frame and foundations. We assess the slab capacity and build the annex according to its actual load-bearing capability.

What sets this area apart

Most buildings in Khitan were built two decades ago and their slabs may show moisture damage and thermal movement. Annexes here are often small guest rooms or storage lofts requiring careful inspection for cracks and exposed reinforcement. If we find slab weakness, we recommend strengthening with steel stirrups or added plates before the annex work begins. Service runs also need careful routing to avoid cutting existing wiring and pipes.

Khitan sits in Farwaniya governorate, a residential area near Farwaniya Hospital and Khitan Co-op centre.

Older buildings in Khitan have slabs 18 to 22 centimetres thick, and their reinforcement may fall short of today's standards.

Questions about Rooftop annex in Khitan

Call now
Can we build an annex on an older residential building without slab reinforcement?

It depends on the actual slab condition. We inspect thickness, reinforcement and cracks. If the slab is weak, we recommend strengthening before the annex. If sound, we may build the annex without extra reinforcement depending on the annex weight.

How do we route pipes and wires to the annex without cutting the old services?

We first map all existing services on and in the building, then select new routes away from them. We use separate conduits and cables apart from the old lines, and coordinate with the electrician and plumber before routing.
