What sets this area apart

Rabiya is a residential area dominated by villas and small apartment blocks of three to four storeys on varied plot sizes. Most buildings were constructed twenty or more years ago, and original concrete frame records are often unavailable or incomplete. When adding a rooftop annex, we conduct a site investigation to determine slab thickness, rebar grade and concrete quality. The annex is poured on adjustable steel formwork, with full damp-proof treatment and adequate expansion joints.

Rabiya is located in Farwaniya governorate, a residential area near the Roudha neighbourhood.

A rooftop annex requires at least 3 cm of waterproofing applied directly to the existing slab before pouring begins.

Questions about Rooftop annex in Rabiya

Call now
Does a rooftop annex add load to the original building's foundation?

Yes, which is why we first confirm the slab can carry the additional load. The load transfers directly to the slab, and only to the foundation if the slab capacity is exceeded.

What if the site investigation shows the existing slab is weak?

We can strengthen the slab by adding internal columns or steel reinforcement beams before pouring. This increases cost and timeline, but ensures the annex and entire building remain safe.
