What sets this area apart

Most Zahraa homes are mid-rise apartment buildings erected mostly in the 1990s, with kitchens in enclosed spaces of 12 to 16 square metres and 20 cm concrete walls. The substrate is usually rough concrete slabs, and walls may be damp from old seepage or poor ventilation before renovation. We test moisture first, then apply a flexible waterproofing layer before fixing any tiles to prevent future seepage.

Zahraa sits in Hawalli governorate, a cohesive residential district of 1990s-style apartment blocks.

Most Zahraa kitchens measure 12 to 16 square metres with a standard ceiling height of 2.8 metres.

Questions about Kitchen tiling in Zahraa

Call now
Must moisture be treated before tiling an older kitchen?

Yes, it is essential. We test moisture with meters and apply a flexible waterproofing layer if needed, because tiles alone cannot stop old seepage.

How do you handle tile gaps around the stove zone and adjacent walls?

We use heat-resistant grout instead of standard sealant around the stove, and maintain regular 5 to 6 mm gaps between tiles to absorb thermal movement.
