What the repair covers - Leak repair

What the repair covers

Pipe isolation, section replacement and full reinstatement handled in a single visit when possible.

  • Line isolation

Shut off the faulty line to protect the rest of the system.

  • Targeted breaking

Break only the minimum area directly above the confirmed leak point.

  • Pipe section replacement

Cut out the corroded or cracked section and fit a matching replacement.

  • Post-repair pressure test

Hold pressure on the repaired line to confirm no secondary leak remains.

  • Opening reinstatement

Backfill the chase, replaster the wall or relay tiles to match the existing finish.

  • Drain check after repair

Inspect nearby drain lines that may have been disturbed during breaking.

Signs the repair cannot wait

  1. Spreading damp patch

A wall or ceiling stain that grows wider week by week despite dry weather.

  2. Tiles lifting underfoot

One or more tiles rock or sound hollow because moisture has dissolved the bedding beneath.

  3. Meter turning in an empty house

The water meter dial moves after every tap and toilet is shut off completely.

  4. Dripping sound behind dry wall

An audible drip inside the wall while the surface still feels completely dry to the touch.

Before you call: 4 steps that speed the job

  1. Locate the main stopcock

Know where the main stopcock is and confirm it opens and closes without sticking.

  2. Identify the pipe material

White PPR, grey uPVC or old galvanised iron? The material determines how the joint is made.

  3. Photograph visible damage

Photo damp stains and lifted tiles before the team arrives to help prioritise the work.

  4. Clear the work area

Move furniture and rugs away from the suspect zone before cutting or breaking starts.

Part of: Water leak detection

More in water leak detection.

What goes wrong with most plumbing.

Plumbing problems start hidden and end with breaking tiles. These three cost the most.

  1. 01

    Pipes laid in a rush

Pipework rushed before the walls close stays hidden until it starts to leak.

  2. 02

    Leaks you cannot see

A slow leak behind tiles shows up as damp, stains and a higher water bill.

  3. 03

    Nobody answers in an emergency

A burst pipe at night cannot wait for a contractor who has moved on.

The solution?

Pipework, leak detection and maintenance from one licensed company.

  1. Water and drain pipes inside a wall before tiling
    Pipes laid in a rush

    First-fix plumbing by the builder

Laid as part of the build, before the walls close.

  2. A moisture meter beside a tiled wall
    Leaks you cannot see

    Water leak detection

    We find the source first.

  3. A utility room with a new water heater and pump
    Nobody answers in an emergency

    24-hour emergency plumber

Plus regular maintenance contracts after handover.

How it works.

  1. Call or whatsApp

Describe the leak location and whether it is an emergency.

  2. Site assessment

A technician inspects stains, traces pipe runs and confirms the leak point.

  3. Targeted opening

Cut the smallest possible opening in tile or plaster to reach the pipe.

  4. Repair and test

Replace the faulty section then pressure-test to confirm the joint holds.

  5. Reinstatement

Close the chase, replaster or retile and hand over a clean site.

What sets the price.

Five factors shape the quote for every repair job; none has a fixed rate.

Get a quote
  1. Pipe depth and location

A pipe under a tiled slab needs deeper breaking than one inside a wall chase.

  2. Length of pipe replaced

Longer damaged sections raise both material cost and labour time.

  3. Finish type to reinstate

Matching rare marble or custom tiles costs more than replastering an ordinary wall.

  4. Existing pipe material

Old galvanised iron needs transition fittings that add cost to the repair.

  5. Emergency versus standard timing

Night or weekend call-outs carry a different rate from a scheduled daytime visit.

Why one contractor beats four.

Questions, answered.

Does fixing a leak under the floor mean breaking all the tiles?

No. The leak point is confirmed with detection equipment first, then only the tiles directly above it are opened. The goal is always to keep the break area as small as possible.

Can an old galvanised iron pipe be joined directly to a new PPR pipe?

Yes, but a purpose-made transition fitting is required to join the two different materials securely. Without it, the joint leaks under thermal expansion because each material moves at a different rate.

Does Kuwait's hard water weaken pipes and cause them to leak?

Hard water leaves calcium scale inside galvanised iron pipes, narrowing the bore and raising internal pressure until the pipe cracks. PPR and uPVC pipes resist scale better but can still leak at joints under the added pressure.

Can a roof tank seal leak be fixed in the same visit as a pipe repair?

It is possible if the tank is in the same work zone and accessible during the same visit. The site assessment confirms whether both repairs can be combined.

Does summer heat cause pipe joints inside walls to fail?

Pipes near roof tanks or exposed to direct sun expand and contract daily, which gradually stresses joints. Heat-fused PPR joints handle this cycle better than compression fittings common in older installations.
