What sets this area apart

Zahraa has three to four-storey residential buildings, many on corner plots requiring both internal and external stairs. Internal stairs are poured between load-bearing walls or divided columns; external ones need protection from moisture and exposure. Before pouring, we check with the site engineer that floor levels and step rises are correct, since any deviation affects rebar placement and concrete flow together.

Zahraa is in Hawalli governorate, a residential district of mid-rise buildings on varied plot shapes.

The step rise in a concrete stair must not exceed 18 centimetres per the building code.

Questions about Concrete stair pouring in Zahraa

Call now
How do we avoid voids and defects when pouring an internal concrete stair?

We use electric vibrators during pouring to ensure concrete fills all gaps around the rebar, and monitor the concrete cover thickness above the steel on each step.

Does an external stair need different treatment than an internal one?

Yes, external stairs face rain and moisture, so we use concrete with high sulphate resistance and apply a sealant after initial set to protect the rebar from rust.
