Any addition to a roof in Kuwait requires approval from the relevant authority before work begins. We can help you identify what your specific site and municipality require before construction starts.
How does a cement-board room cope with Kuwait's heavy dust and sandstorms?
Correctly lapped exterior-grade panels with sealed joints keep fine dust out. Problems arise only when joints are left open or interior-grade boards are used on the outside face.
Can wall tiles be fixed directly to cement-board panels in a bathroom?
Yes, wet-area cement board is specifically designed to receive tiles directly. Joints between panels must first be taped and filled with the correct compound before tile adhesive is applied.
What makes cement board different from gypsum board for exterior use?
Gypsum board deteriorates when exposed to moisture or intense heat and is not suitable for exterior use in Kuwait. Cement board is a fibre-reinforced concrete product that resists moisture, heat and UV and remains dimensionally stable.
Can a cement-board room be dismantled and rebuilt in a different location?
The steel frame can in principle be unbolted, but panels are typically damaged during removal at screw points and sealant lines. It is more practical to treat the room as a permanent structure and invest in correct design from the start.
