What sets this area apart
Rumaithiya has tall residential buildings of five to eight storeys alongside luxury seafront villas, all exposed directly to the sea and salt. Parapet walls here face real challenges: salt and moisture degrade concrete and steel fast, so we use salt-resistant concrete with special additives and columns with galvanised, rust-proof reinforcement. We apply strong epoxy waterproof instead of ordinary bitumen and add an extra salt-resistant paint layer. The roof itself must be perfectly flat with a strong central drainage system.
Rumaithiya is in Hawalli governorate, a coastal zone where residential buildings and seafront villas face the Gulf directly.
We use Grade A4 galvanised reinforcement in parapet columns in coastal areas to resist salt corrosion.

Questions about Rooftop parapet wall in Rumaithiya
Call nowWhat is the difference between bitumen and epoxy waterproofing in coastal areas?
Epoxy resists salt and moisture longer term than bitumen. We use it in Rumaithiya because ordinary bitumen breaks down from salt after one or two years.
Do parapet walls near the sea need stronger columns?
Yes, they do. Salt and strong winds increase lateral pressure, so we set 30 cm diameter columns instead of 25 cm and use at least 16 mm heavy reinforcement.
