Rooftop parapet wall in Kuwait - Kuwait City

Rooftop parapet wall in Kuwait City

Parapet walls in Kuwait City face strong winds and harsh seasonal shifts, so they demand sturdy concrete columns and reinforced steel. We build them with red brick or concrete blocks, apply waterproof coating, and cap them with protection moulding to keep them sound through every season.

What sets this area apart

Kuwait City has tall residential and commercial buildings ranging from five to ten storeys, with rooftops exposed directly to seasonal winds and rain. Parapet walls here must resist lateral pressure and water penetration at once, so we set concrete columns 25 cm in diameter at spacing no more than 2 metres apart, fill the gaps with hollow brick, then apply a waterproof layer and exterior finish. The roof itself must slope gently to drain water toward the central outlet before wall construction begins.

Kuwait City lies in the Capital governorate, where tall commercial and residential buildings concentrate and rooftops endure high climatic pressure.

We space parapet columns 1.8 to 2.2 metres apart according to the area's wind load standard.

Questions about Rooftop parapet wall in Kuwait City

Call now
How do you protect a parapet wall from water seepage in winter?

We apply a bituminous or epoxy waterproof coat to the inner face of the wall after brickwork is done, then set a sloped concrete coping to shed water away from the roof.

What foundation and reinforcement are needed for a parapet wall on tall buildings?

It depends on the building height and design wind speed. We typically pour a concrete base 50 cm deep with columns reinforced by at least 16 mm steel, tied to the roof's top beam.
