Additional floor in Kuwait - Hateen

Additional floor in Hateen

Adding a floor in Hateen starts with a full structural assessment of the existing building and its capacity for a new level. We evaluate the foundations, columns and beams in place, then design and build the new frame to our approved standards.

What sets this area apart

Most Hateen houses were built in the early seventies or before, typically three or four storeys on medium-sized plots 25 to 35 metres deep. The older concrete foundations may need reinforcement if the existing columns cannot carry a fifth or sixth floor. We measure the column diameters, beam thickness and footing depth before any formwork goes up, and coordinate with the site engineer to approve the structural changes.

Hateen lies in Hawalli governorate, an older residential district of uniform-height buildings that need structural study before any vertical development.

We test the existing concrete strength by sampling the columns and beams before proceeding with the new floor design.

Questions about Additional floor in Hateen

Call now
How do we know the house foundations can carry an extra floor?

We survey the foundations, columns and beams on site and compare the test results to the original plans if available. That gives us a clear picture of actual load capacity and whether reinforcement is needed.

Must residents stay out during the additional floor work?

It depends on the scope and structural design. If the new frame is partially independent and does not require dismantling existing parts, residents may stay in the lower floors. We assess that with the site engineer before starting work.
