Additional floor in Kuwait - Firdous

Additional floor in Firdous

Adding an upper floor to a villa in Firdous requires thorough assessment of the existing structure and foundations before designing the new level. We evaluate whether the columns and beams can carry the additional load and produce an approved structural report for submission to the municipality.

What sets this area apart

Most residential villas in Firdous were built on medium-sized plots with no original upper-floor provision, meaning the foundations and columns were designed for two or three storeys only. When adding a floor, we take concrete and soil samples for laboratory testing and measure the clearance between the existing ceiling and the municipality's height limit. The new slab must meet the same setbacks as the lower storeys, and sometimes we need to strengthen certain columns by adding new reinforcement before pouring.

Firdous lies in Farwaniya governorate, a residential district bordered by the Sixth Ring Road to the east.

The maximum permissible height in Firdous is set by the building's original design and the municipality's zoning limits before approval of any additional floor.

Questions about Additional floor in Firdous

Call now
How do you verify that the foundations will safely carry the extra floor?

We take soil samples around the existing foundations and test them in a lab, then calculate the actual soil-bearing capacity and compare it to the new load. If adequate, we submit an approved report to the municipality.

Do you demolish the current roof slab or can you pour directly onto it?

We clean the surface thoroughly and remove any deteriorated or loose material, then roughen the top and create a strong structural bond before pouring the new floor. Complete demolition is rarely necessary.
