What sets this area apart

Wafra commercial plots are relatively narrow, five to seven metres wide and eight to nine metres deep, surrounded by farmland and simple residential plots. The hot, dry climate demands special attention to thermal insulation and ventilation, so flooring is chosen from heat and dust-resistant ceramic, and external walls painted with heat-reflective coatings. The glazed storefront is protected by a folding metal or fabric screen to reduce desert heat and dust penetration. Natural ventilation and ducting are designed to extract hot air from the top, and internal lighting is moderate to minimise extra heat generation.

Wafra is in Ahmadi governorate, a farming district near the Saudi border with a small cooperative community.

Shops in Wafra need extra protection from heat and dust, so fabric or metal screens are fitted to storefronts.

Questions about Shop finishing in Wafra

Call now
How do you protect the shop from extreme heat and desert dust?

We use heat-reflective coatings on external walls, folding fabric or metal screens on the glass storefront, and high natural ventilation to draw hot air from inside.

Is heat-resistant ceramic enough for flooring or does it need extra insulation?

Heat and dust-resistant ceramic is usually adequate, but if the shop has prolonged direct sunlight exposure, we add an insulating layer beneath the ceramic to reduce inward heat transfer.
