What sets this area apart

Firdous is modern residential apartment buildings, mostly 6 to 9 storeys on regular plots, built in the 2010s and 2020s to improved standards. Concrete frames are relatively new and walls are in good condition, but high summer heat and humidity cause continuous expansion and contraction. Installing pharaonic stone requires expansion joints every few courses to absorb movement, and checking rising damp from the foundation before starting.

Firdous lies in Farwaniya governorate, a modern residential area near Sixth Ring Road and Firdous Co-operative Society.

We leave 0.5 cm expansion joints between courses every 1.5 metres in height to accommodate thermal movement in the stone.

Questions about Pharaonic stone cladding in Firdous

Call now
Why are expansion joints needed in Firdous pharaonic stone facades?

Intense summer heat and humidity cause significant expansion in stone and mortar. Expansion joints allow safe movement without cracking or debonding. We fill joints with flexible, water-resistant sealant.

How do we check for rising damp before installing pharaonic stone?

We measure moisture from the foundation up to 1.5 metres height using a digital meter. If levels are high, we apply an asphalt-based waterproofing layer before stone installation to block rising water.
