What sets this area apart

Daiya is a mix of villas and residential blocks, with stairs ranging from old wooden steps to new concrete platforms. Stair width is usually 120 to 150 cm, riser height 16 to 18 cm, the standard range for private homes. Parquet fitting requires checking step alignment horizontally and correcting any gaps with filler before bonding wood pieces. The nosings and edges must be sanded carefully to avoid sharp edges that cause tripping.

Daiya is in the Capital governorate near British School of Kuwait and Daiya Park.

Riser height on villa stairs in Daiya ranges standardly between 16 and 18 cm, with tread depth 28 to 30 cm.

Questions about Stair parquet in Daiya

Call now
How do you sand the stair edge without making it unsafe?

We use wet sanders with progressively fine grits (120, then 150, then 180), then rinse and dry the wood before applying protective varnish that gives a smooth, safe finish.

Can parquet be fitted over an existing old wooden staircase?

Yes, but we first inspect the old stair's structural soundness. If sound, we sand and clean the surface, then bond new parquet pieces with moisture-resistant adhesive.
