Windows in older villas tend to settle slightly or drift out of plumb due to foundation movement, so we check the frame before installing and build it up with levelling mortar if needed. We choose thickness based on the frame and wall condition. Thicker marble (10 cm) resists bending better if the wall is uneven, but needs stronger levelling mortar underneath.
What do you do if you find the aluminium frame is bent or misaligned when you measure?
We notify the contractor or property owner before installation. If the misalignment is small (under 5 mm), we use thicker levelling mortar locally and build the frame up gradually. If it is larger, the frame must be repaired first.
