We design horizontal voids (plenum) above the gypsum layer for air ducts and electrical cables, keeping them separated from water pipes by a safe distance. The frame and pipes are installed together before the final gypsum pour.
Are gypsum ceilings suitable for older villas that need rerouting of services?
Yes, but it requires prior study of existing service routes and horizontal rerouting. We measure the space between raw and finished ceiling and plan pipes to occupy no more than 60 per cent of the void.
