What sets this area apart

Zahraa is an older villa-residential area with metal ceilings and concrete structures, and most dampness comes from hidden water-pipe leaks in walls or insufficient drainage from bathrooms and kitchens. Standard gypsum board cannot handle these conditions, so we use moisture-resistant boards with treated cores and install them with ventilation gaps behind the walls. Joints and corners are filled with moisture-resistant compounds before final painting.

Zahraa is in Hawalli governorate, an older villa-residential area prone to repeated leaks and poor drainage.

We leave a ventilation gap of at least five centimetres between the board back and the outer wall to allow moisture to dry.

Questions about Moisture-resistant gypsum in Zahraa

Call now
How do we tell if dampness is from a water leak, not just poor ventilation?

We assess where the dampness appears and how often: a leak leaves concentrated marks below pipes or at foundation corners, while ventilation issues spread across the whole surface. We also check the adjacent walls before choosing where to install.

Does moisture-resistant board last forever in an older villa?

It lasts long if the moisture source is contained or addressed (such as fixing the leak first). If the leak continues underneath, the boards themselves will be affected over years, so addressing the root cause is essential.
