What sets this area apart

Naeem is a residential area in Jahra with villas and 3 to 5-storey apartments on mid-sized plots. Homes are reinforced concrete or block construction, and the climate is very dry with extreme summer heat and harsh winter cold. This seasonal swing causes cyclic expansion and contraction in the substrate and tiles, so we use flexible adhesive instead of regular cement. Joints must be slightly wider than coastal joints to absorb movement, and filled with flexible grout that does not crack.

Naeem sits in Jahra governorate, an inland residential area with a dry climate and high temperature swings.

Porcelain tile joints in dry inland areas must be 3 to 4 mm wide instead of 1 to 2 mm to allow for seasonal movement.

Questions about Wall porcelain tiling in Naeem

Call now
Does porcelain crack in Jahra's dry, hot climate?

Cracking occurs with rigid adhesive and narrow joints. We use flexible adhesive and 3 to 4 mm joints with flexible grout, so tiles move with the substrate without breaking.

How long before the walls can be used after tiling in Jahra?

Flexible adhesive needs at least 48 hours drying before use. Grout needs 24 more hours. In extreme summer heat, drying may be faster, but we do not speed it with air conditioning or strong ventilation as that causes cracking.
