What sets this area apart

Abu Halifa is a mixed industrial and residential area with medium-depth plots, and most older buildings use individual underground tanks because of fluctuating mains pressure. The soil is fine sand with a very high groundwater table, which requires forced drainage during excavation and lateral-seepage protection after pouring. We choose wall and floor thickness based on tank depth and the fixed water table at the site.

Abu Halifa lies in Ahmadi governorate, a mixed industrial and residential area near a co-operative shopping centre.

Most underground tanks in Abu Halifa are poured at a depth of 2 to 3 metres below ground level.

Questions about Underground tank construction in Abu Halifa

Call now
How do you handle the high groundwater when excavating the tank?

We run continuous dewatering pumps to lower the water table during excavation, and pour tank walls thick enough to resist lateral pressure from water and soil. After pouring we apply a cement-based waterproof coat to the outside of the walls to prevent seepage.

Can you build an underground tank beneath an existing building in Abu Halifa?

Very difficult and rare. It requires controlled excavation and heavy shoring to protect the building foundations, plus prior engineering sign-off from a site supervisor. We usually recommend a new tank beside the building if the plot allows.
