Storm-drain network design in Kuwait - Sabahiya

Storm-drain network design in Sabahiya

Storm-drain network design in Sabahiya collects heavy rainfall from a coastal residential area at low elevation. We calculate runoff rate from villas and apartment blocks on dispersed plots, and draw drain lines to discharge into the coastal outfall or municipal basin.

What sets this area apart

Sabahiya is a coastal residential area at very low elevation near Kuwait Bay, with villas on large plots and scattered apartment blocks. Soil is sandy and saline with groundwater very close to the surface, especially in winter and rainfall season. The drainage network must protect buildings from moisture and runoff, directing water toward the zone's lowest point or coastal outfalls. Natural slope may be very gentle, requiring precise level surveys and possibly light lift stations.

Sabahiya is located in Ahmadi governorate on Kuwait Bay coast, a low-lying residential area.

We select pipes made of salt and corrosion-resistant materials, such as reinforced plastic or treated concrete.

What the design covers - Storm-drain network design

What the design covers

Complete design from flow calculation through to construction-ready drawings

  • Runoff calculation

Sizing the network to the catchment area and surface slopes

  • Pipe diameter selection

Selecting each pipe section diameter to carry peak flow without surcharging

  • Network routing plan

Mapping pipe routes to avoid clashes with other service lines

  • Gradient and invert levels

Setting gradients and invert levels so water flows by gravity throughout

  • Inspection chamber layout

Positioning and sizing chambers at every junction and change of direction

  • Construction drawings

Producing dimensioned drawings and level schedules ready for site execution

How it works.

  1. Initial contact

Call or WhatsApp us to describe the site and request a visit

  2. Site survey

We visit, record levels, and collect any existing building drawings

  3. Hydraulic calculations

We calculate flow, select diameters, and set gradients for every pipe run

  4. Drawing production

We produce fully dimensioned construction drawings with levels and structural details

  5. Handover and review

We hand over drawings and walk through any revisions before site work begins

Questions about Storm-drain network design in Sabahiya

Call now
How do you manage high groundwater in coastal Sabahiya?

We plan deep drainage so pipes stay above the groundwater table. If the table approaches pipe invert level, we use watertight pipes and surround the section with fine gravel and sand for lateral seepage.

Do storm waters discharge directly into the sea or to intermediate tanks?

We prefer discharge to licensed coastal outfalls rather than direct marine disposal. Where needed, we use intermediate collection tanks before final discharge to reduce impact on the marine environment.
