Storm-water drainage in Kuwait - Daiya

Storm-water drainage in Daiya

Storm drainage networks in Daiya collect roof and paved-area water and direct it toward infiltration tanks or lines parallel to main streets. We design each network by the site's topography and total collection area.

What sets this area apart

Daiya features scattered villas and residential apartment blocks on relatively spacious plots, with small gardens, courts and paved pathways. Daiya's sandy soil has good natural infiltration, yet large roofs and paved courts require organized networks to direct water. We use perforated plastic pipes in infiltration tanks or full-drain pipes toward side channels. We also watch for low spots on the plot where water pools, and install graduated solutions before finishing.

Daiya lies in Kuwait governorate near the British School of Kuwait and Daiya residential park.

Daiya's sandy soil absorbs water quickly, so infiltration tanks at one metre depth with side drainage suffice for most residential buildings.

Questions about Storm-water drainage in Daiya

Call now
Does Daiya's sandy soil mean we need no collection tank?

Not necessarily. Despite good natural drainage, we use small infiltration tanks to absorb seasonal rainfall peaks and prevent surface flooding around the foundation.

How do you handle low spots where water pools in the car park?

We run underground drainage pipes from low spots connected to the infiltration tank or side channels. We gradually raise the car park slope during the final grading and fill phases.
