What sets this area apart

Mutlaa district features mountainous terrain with steeply sloped rocky faces, where residential and commercial projects are concentrated on elevated land. Exposed slopes and rocks subjected to weather exposure cause gradual erosion and rockfall risk. Shotcrete provides a thick protective layer on exposed rock faces, stabilizing rocks and preventing debris shedding. Rather than using formwork on dangerous slopes, we spray concrete onto pre-installed steel mesh grids, reinforcing slope stability and accelerating execution in challenging terrain.

Mutlaa is located in Jahra governorate, a mountainous area with rocky slopes and varied natural terrain.

Rocky slopes at Mutlaa can reach gradients exceeding 45 degrees, requiring reinforcing steel mesh before shotcrete application.

What we spray - Shotcrete

What we spray

Shotcrete suits any surface that cannot be cast with conventional pour and formwork methods.

  • Excavation retaining walls

Stabilising excavation faces and stopping soil collapse in high-groundwater coastal sites.

  • Existing foundation strengthening

Adding a sprayed layer over exposed or deteriorated footings to restore load capacity.

  • Basement wall lining

Forming a dense pressure-resistant lining on basement walls against groundwater ingress.

  • Deteriorated concrete repair

Filling voids and spalled sections in columns and beams with compacted sprayed layers.

  • Curved surfaces and domes

Covering curved architectural forms that standard timber or steel formwork cannot follow.

  • Pools and water tanks

Forming pool shells and tank walls with dense, low-permeability sprayed concrete.

How it works.

  1. First contact

Call or WhatsApp us describing the surface type, location and visible problem.

  2. Site visit

Our engineer inspects the surface, measures area and checks rebar condition.

  3. Surface preparation

Spalled sections cut back, rebar cleaned and surface high-pressure washed before spraying.

  4. Shotcrete application

Concrete is sprayed in successive passes to build up the specified layer thickness.

  5. Curing and handover

The sprayed layer is kept moist under cover until full strength gain before handover.

Questions about Shotcrete in Mutlaa

Call now
How does shotcrete prevent rockslope collapse?

We first anchor a reinforcing steel mesh onto the slope face using deep anchor bolts. Then we spray layers of shotcrete over the mesh to a thickness of 10 to 15 centimetres. Together, concrete and mesh act as a shield that anchors rocks and prevents shedding.

Does shotcrete withstand seasonal expansion and contraction of rock?

Yes, the steel mesh allows sufficient flexibility to absorb rock movement. We leave small expansion joints between sprayed sections to allow movement, preventing concrete cracking under seasonal stress.
